Strawberries are a summer staple, but if you can buy them organic, you really should. According to The Daily Mail,

A new report from the Environmental Working Group finds the red berries have the most pesticides of any fruit or vegetable. Scientists analyzed more than 36,000 samples of produce collected by the U.S. State Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. The top five ‘dirtiest’ fruits and vegetables were: strawberries, spinach, nectarines, apples, and peaches, while the top five ‘cleanest’ produce items were: avocados, sweetcorn, pineapples, cabbages, and onions. Overall, nearly 70 percent of all samples were contaminated with pesticide residues. The only advice offered to avoid chowing down on pesticide residue: buy organic.
