Childish Gambino released a new track and video for his record, “This is America” right before performing it on SNL, where he was both the host and musical guest this weekend. The track, which was directed by Hiro Murai, was Gambino’s depiction of America. The rapper is seen performing different dances through a warehouse, while also shooting multiple people. In the song, he sings, “This is America/Don’t catch you slippin’ now.” In the visual, he explores homeland terrorism, while everyone in the clip is touched by violence. The record also features a choir and various rappers who provide ad-libs, such as 21 Savage, Big SeanKodak BlackOffset and Young Thug.
