Sleeping in is one perk of not having to work weekends, and according to Mashable, a new study shows the habit of sleeping late on Saturdays and Sundays could help you live longer.

Researchers from Sweden and the U.S. found people under the age of 65 who get less than five hours sleep during the weekend had an increased risk of death. Their data, published in the Journal of Sleep Research, was based on information from more than 30,000 subjects who were followed over a 13-year period.

Among participants who only managed to get less than five hours of sleep each night during the week, but then slept more on the weekends, there was no increased risk of death. However, there were limitations in the study, such as the participants only being asked about their sleeping habits once, making it impossible to track any changes in their sleep habits over time.
