Singer H.E.R. has spoken out about the importance of women empowerment. She took to Twitter earlier this week and wrote, “There aren’t enough Female artists supporting other females artists. GENUINELY. No clique sh*t. None of that phony ‘you’re pretty and popular, be my friend’. That’s why we don’t have this generations ‘The Boy is mine’ or an iconic female empowerment live performance w/ your favs. Black females need to UPLIFT other black females. No competition. No jealousy. No insecurities. You don’t have to try to diminish someone else’s value to see your own.”
She added, “I REALLY appreciate @ellamai who came out on my set at Barclays to CELEBRATE R&B and Female empowerment. That’s what Its about.”
H.E.R. is currently on Chris Brown’s “Heartbreak on a Full Moon Tour.”
