What to know something that made almost every Texan throw up in their mouths a little bit? Beloved burger chain Whataburger being sold to Chicago-based investment firm BDT Capital Partners. Now, the family-owned Whataburger tried to reassure customers that they’ll “always be Texan and represent you in a way that makes you proud” but still, the sale has loyal customers feeling a certain way.

Whataburger will still be headquartered in San Antonio and the deal is mostly to spread the good word (and taste) of Whataburger by expanding into different markets.

It didn’t stop people like JJ Watt from chiming in, hoping to buy Whataburger back so that it could stay 100% Texan. I bet other spaces don’t even know the struggle of pronouncing it “Waterburger!”

Still, it left us feeling a way.

Wait, does the Whataburger sale mean I can still wear these?
