According to Page Six, in his 177 page filing, Cosby argued that it was wrong for the judge to allow accusers Janice Dickinson and four other women to testify that he drugged and sexually assaulted them.
Cosby claimed the five witnesses should have been excluded from his April 2018 trial along with deposition testimony in which Cosby admitted that he kept Quaaludes on hand to give to women that he found sexually attractive.
Cosby and his lawyers claimed that the evidence “had no relevance” to the charges that he drugged and sexually assaulted Temple University staffer Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia home back in January 2004.
COSBY’S WIFE RELEASES A STATEMENT
Cosby’s wife Camille Cosby released a statement about the appeal, saying, “This filing is an important step in ensuring that Mr. Cosby receives a hearing from a fair and impartial court. The Constitution guarantees that right to Mr. Cosby — and to all Americans — and he looks forward to securing justice in the court of appeal.”
She added, “America will be great when it fulfills the last four words of the revered Pledge of Allegiance, ‘And justice for all,’” she reportedly said.
Cosby was found guilty on April 26th, 2018, and sentenced in September to three to 10 years in prison.
