The Lighthouse Church’s Free LIGHTFEST Back-to-School Event Returns August 9

The Lighthouse Church and Ministries (TLHC) will host the second annual LIGHTFEST school supply drive and back–to–school event on Friday evening at Main Event in Humble.
Led by The Lighthouse Church and Ministries First Lady Shaunie Henderson, LIGHTFEST launched in 2023 with a mission of sending local kids back to school with the backpacks, notebooks, pens, and other essential supplies for a successful year.
“Providing for the children of our community, especially in their education, is a key pillar of our Ministry and a personal passion of mine,” Lady Henderson said. “As our Church and community continue to revive after Hurricane Beryl, we know that LIGHTFEST is a symbol of our collective resilience. A new school year brings limitless hope and excitement for each student, and, for many, having new supplies is the spark they need to walk into the classroom with their heads high and their minds ready to learn.”
Because the TLHC North campus remains closed after Hurricane Beryl, the Church partnered with Main Event in Humble to host the nearly 700 students registered to attend. On Friday night, the Church reserved the entire building from 7:00 pm-11:00 pm. All registered kids will enjoy unlimited bowling and laser tag, arcade games, pizza and soft drinks, and other fun activities. Also, all K-12 students will receive a new backpack filled with the essential school supplies for their grade level.
