Chick-fil-A Is Bringing Chicken and Waffles

Now THIS is the kind of breakfast news I can get behind! Chick-fil-A is getting ready to put a Southern twist on one of our favorite comfort-food combinations: chicken and waffles. Beginning Monday, August 24, the restaurant is rolling out its new chicken and waffle sandwiches nationwide after testing the menu item. 

And baby, they didn’t just throw a piece of chicken on a waffle and call it a day. The sandwich comes with a maple-flavored waffle, Chick-fil-A’s chicken filet, three strips of bacon, honey butter spread and warm syrup on the side. You can choose from original, spicy or grilled chicken, so there’s a little something depending on how you’re feeling that morning.

During breakfast hours, Chick-fil-A will offer a smaller version of the sandwich, while the larger sandwich will be available from 10:30 a.m. until closing. And because apparently one new item wasn’t enough, Chick-fil-A is also bringing back that seasonal comfort-food feeling with s’mores-inspired drinks, including a s’mores milkshake and s’mores frosted coffee. 

Listen, I’m not saying this is going to replace your traditional chicken and waffles plate, because some things belong on a real breakfast table with a fork and knife. But if you’re rushing to work, running errands or simply looking for something different, I can see this sandwich becoming a serious temptation. Monday morning just got a little more interesting.
