The 2nd Annual Top 50 Black Attorneys in Houston Awards Ceremony. took place on Thursday, May 23rd at the HESS Club. Award recipients included Living Legends: State Representative Sylvester Turner and Attorney Craig Washington; Community Heroes: Dr. James Douglas, J. Goodwille Pierre, Dannye Holley, Jolanda Jones, Jalene M. Mack, Rep. Ron Reynolds, Council Member C.O. Bradford and Council Member Larry Green. ; Trailblazers: David A. Chaumette, and Evangeline M. Mitchell; Law Enforcement Heroes: Constable May Walker and Constable Ruben Davis and many other outstanding Houston attorneys in the categories of Super Attorney, Top Attorney, Top Judge, Up and Coming Attorney and People’s Choice.
Majic 102.1’s Dr. J Thomas Smith was presented with “Top Attorney” honors and was surprised with a “Community Hero” award for his service to the community through his decades of service as a community-oriented air personality and host of “Sunday Morning Live”.
