Excitement is building around the coming N.W.A. biopic and fans won’t have to wait too long because production will be underway shortly.
But it appears that director John Singleton, who was expected to help the production alongside Ice Cube, may be on the way out.
“I can’t talk about it too prematurely about the stuff I’m doing because nothing’s come to fruition yet, but Cube and I are talking about doing the N.W.A story,” Singleton said. “The script is really, really good and we’re just figuring it out. New Line [Cinema] really wants to make it.”
But Vulture.com is reporting that New Line Cinema is only considering three seasoned directors: F. Gary Gary (“Friday”), Craig Brewer (“Hustle & Flow”), and Peter Berg (“Friday Night Lights”).
