Investigators say a Houston woman was found naked and eating ice cream in a drug store after having a car accident, leaving her three children alone after the wreck.
Stephanie Dillard, 34, has been charged with child endangerment.
Houston police said Dillard’s children were with her when her vehicle collided with a METRO bus near South Post Oak and Orem on Friday. The children are ages 5, 12 and 16,
Police say the children were shaken up and had some minor injuries. The 5-year-old reportedly had a large gash over one eye.
According to detectives, Dillard got out of the car and left her children at the scene after the accident. The mother reportedly then went to a nearby CVS drug store where she ate ice cream and disrobed.
Investigators said Dillard resisted officers tried to arrest her.
A family member now has custody of the children.
Police do not yet know what led to Dillard’s unusual behavior.
She is being held in Harris County Jail with a $2,000 bond.
