It’s the end of an era for a prominent department store in downtown Houston.
The Macy’s on Main St., is set to close after more than six decades in service to Houstonians. Formerly Foley’s, the store remained when many other department stores vacated downtown for the Galleria area.
The building was originally six stories tall, but expanded to ten floors in 1957. It was also one of the first buildings downtown to feature a tunnel.
