The impact of the movie 12 Years’s A Slave reaches far beyond the big screen. Nominated for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards, the film is set to become a required course in public high schools. Great Britain already requires it’s students to study the history of Britain’s participation in slavery and it is high time the U.S. requires it’s student to do the same.
