Meet Winnie Harlow: She’s 19. She has Vitiligo and She is FLAWLESS.

Are You Happy With YOU?

19 year old Vitiligo Spokes model Chantelle Brown-Young is, and she has the pictures to prove it. Chantelle aka Winnie Harlow, former America’s Next Top Model contestant is not even of the legal drinking limit yet, but already this young beauty has enough brains, brawn and courage to revival that of someone twice her age. Simply flawless in my book.

Yeah, I know that by general definition of Flawless (being without any blemishes or imperfections) the very existence of this post is an oxymoron. How can a person with vitiligo be perfect?

And what is vitiligo?? It is a skin condition in which there is a loss of brown color (pigment) from areas of skin, resulting in irregular white patches that feel like normal skin. It may jog your memory of the name if I mention that it is the disease that caused Michael Jackson’s skin to turn white. (Yes, some of you thought it was a game or that Michael just hated his brown skin) but no, vitiligo is a real.

And today there is Winnie. Although she may have been bullied as a child, called ‘zebra’ and ‘cow’, she is now confident and walking in her talents. With a huge following on social media, Winnie may just be the very first model to share her beautiful outlook on herself and the world, via her words. And listen, she doesn’t want your sympathy just because she has vitiligo! Winnie is Bold, Beautiful and Flawless in her view on her condition. On her Instagram page she expressed the following:

“Don’t support me because I have vitiligo or because I am a black woman, or a woman period. Support me because I am Strong. Because I am a Human Being. Because I am an Equal. Because I make mistakes. Support me, not only for our similarities, but for our differences. Support me because no one is perfect but we all want to be loved. I am not a vitiligo model. I am a model who happens to have vitiligo. I am not “team vitiligo” because I don’t discriminate.” Well-spoken Winnie! See more photos shared from
