Sony Pictures has made official what was obvious to me and many of my listeners, when hackers threatened to cause harm to movie theaters if ‘The Interview,’ was released Christmas week. The studio has officially scrapped its release plans. Sony had no choice, after the major theaters chains announced earlier today they would not show the movie given the threatening circumstances. I was looking forward to checking out the movie this holiday season, I personally thought the plot was risky when I first heard about the movie. The film stars Rogen and James Franco as journalists instructed to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un (played by Randall Park) after landing an interview with him. The film became the subject of controversy prior to release due to its negative portrayal of Kim Jong-un.
