How much spice can you handle in your food? New findings published in the British Medical Journal suggest,

You chow down on chili peppers once or twice a week live longer. Researchers looked at the health, diets, and alcohol consumption of over 485,000 people in China. After controlling for many variables, they found that those who ate spicy foods (mainly chili peppers) once or twice a week had a ten percent reduced overall risk for death compared to those who ate spicy foods less than once a week. The protective effect even increased to 14 percent when people ate spicy foods six ofrseven times a week. Similar studies have found that capsaicin, which is found in chili peppers, appears to reduce inflammation and improve metabolic status, gut bacteria, and weight.

Let me go and buy some chili peppers now! LOL
