In leaving a legacy well past Final Four weekend, the 2016 NCAA Men’s Final Four Houston Local Organizing Committee is taking a Day of Service in our local community.
PROJECT #1 – Rebuilding Together Houston
OVERVIEW: Exterior refurbishment for 3 homes on the same block, including painting and landscaping. One homeowner is a military veteran and current student at Texas Southern University. Another is a widow of a WWII veteran.
WHERE: Fairland Street (Sunnyside – Southeast Houston)
Exact address will be given to volunteers once they have confirmed to attend.
WHO: 75 volunteers needed, will include military veterans from the Lone
Star Veteran’s Association
PROJECT #2 – Keep Houston Beautiful
OVERVIEW: Plant and mulch new trees along the trail, as well as refurbishing vegetable gardens with fresh soil/mulch and new spring greens.
WHEN: Saturday, March 5 9:30 a.m. -1 p.m.
WHERE: Texas Southern University Campus 3216 Blodgett (Garden Location)
Parking will be available in the West Garage on the corner of Blodgett and Ennis.
WHO: 120 volunteers needed, will include Coca-Cola, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church,
