Shadow And Act premiered the trailer for Fifth Ward, a contemporary take on Greg Carter’s 1998 film of the same name. Premiering later this year on Urban Movie Channel, the new series is said to be in vein of one of television’s greatest shows, The Wire.
Starring R&B singer Mya, Carl Anthony Payne, Thomas “Nephew Tommy” Miles, Gary Sturgis, Corr Kendricks, Chris O’Neal and Christopher Jefferson, Fifth Ward centers itself around the issues facing inner city communities through the life of Mina (Mya), a single mother of two struggling to make ends meet. The series also finds an intersect between many of the communities locals from town officials on down, all set in historic Fifth Ward.
The debut episode of Fifth Ward airs on March 2, 2018 with the additional five episodes of the series airing weekly through the finale on April 6, 2018.
