Guys (and girls), you may want to reconsider pressing send on a nude photo somebody didn’t ask for.

That’s because sending nude photos to adults who didn’t ask for them could soon become a crime in the state of Texas. Yes, an unsolicited nude could make you wind up paying a $500 fine.

The Texas House recently passed HB 2789, a bill that would make unwanted sexual photos a Class C misdemeanor. The sponsor of the bill says that while indecent exposure in person is a crime, there isn’t a law on the books that would address such behavior on social media or in text messages.

HB 2789 is now in the Senate for consideration. If the bill is approved, it would become law beginning on September 1, 2019. You can follow along with the progress of the bill here.
