A 7-year-old boy is being applauded for his bravery after his 911 call helped stop a robbery in progress inside his family’s Norwalk home, according to the Press-Telegram.

It happened yesterday when three armed men entered the house through the unlocked front door, the child, whose name is being withheld for his safety, and his 6-year-old sister, locked themselves in the bathroom to hide.

While in the bathroom the boy called 911 and explained the situation and asked for assistance. The call was interrupted by screams when the robbers realized the kids were in the bathroom and broke down the door. The boy told them he had called 911, which prompted the suspects to flee.

Using a gray two-door Acura RXS to make their getaway, the three suspects were not located and are still on the loose. The authorities are asking for witnesses or anyone with information about the suspects call the Norwalk Station at (562) 863-8711.
