Dr. Rovenia M. Brock believes that nutrition is the key to optimal health. The nationally acclaimed health journalist is a nutritionist who often appears on television to share accessible health tips that could save your life. Brock learned the importance of health as a young woman, watching her mother lose a battle with stomach cancer when she was just 9 years old.

A recent study suggest that heart health can be adversely impacted by a high-fat, high protein diet. Dr. Brock has long advocated the benefits of a plant-based diet that focuses on nutritionally sound whole foods. Her book Dr. Ro’s Ten Secrets to Livin’ Healthy expanded on those ideas.

Even if you can’t afford pricey organic foods, Dr. Ro says you don’t have to neglect your nutritional needs.

“Good ol’ beans, eggs, nuts, and seeds have always worked…all the way back to Biblical days,” Brock says. “If it was good enough for Jesus? I’ll try it! Seriously though-this plan works and science agrees with  eating this way for longevity and productivity for whatever time you have to live (well) on this earth!”
