Bobby Brown recently spoke with Rolling Stone on Whitney Houston, saying that drugs were far from the cause of her death. He said, “She was really working hard on herself to try to be a sober person and, um [pauses] she was a great woman.” When asked what he thinks attributed to Whitney’s death, Brown replied, “Just being broken-hearted.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Brown said that doesn’t believe justice has been served regarding the death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina. As previously reported, Nick Gordon was ordered to pay $36 million to Bobbi Kristina’s estate. Brown said he isn’t at peace with the situation because Gordon is “still walking around free.” He added, “Justice? If he was locked up somewhere where somebody can rape him. That’s just how I feel. He raped me by taking my daughter away.”

  • Brown went on to say that his daughter’s death inspired him to create the Serenity House for women who suffer from domestic abuse. He continued, “Domestic violence is just the worst sh*t in the world … We started the Serenity House because women will go through it and think they are wrong like it’s their fault. So we’re doing this to build houses like safe havens for women that are being abused to get away from the relationship and get some therapy spiritually and mentally.”
