Bishop Marvin Winans stood at the pulpit and didn’t hold back.
“If your allegiance ain’t to Jesus, you’re on your way to hell,” he declared.
His target? Bishop William Murphy and pastors who joined fraternities.
Murphy had just crossed into Omega Psi Phi.
Winans called it a lie—said the Bible is the only book he needs.
The church crowd shifted in their seats.

Check out the short clip below and the comments on our Majic 102.1 poll.

Online, Divine 9 members clutched pearls—and paraphernalia.
Some asked, “Can’t I love Jesus and wear letters?”
Others clapped back: “My frat serves the community and Christ.”
Bishop Talbert Swan fired back, calling Winans’ view unbiblical.
“Don’t add to the Gospel,” he tweeted.
Murphy stayed cool and posted a YouTube video.
“I fear God, not opinions,” he said calmly.
The debate lit up timelines like Sunday morning sermons.
Can you rep the Cross and the Q’s?
The conversation continues—on pews, in comments, and at the next probate.

Winans also serves as the Bishop-Elect of Perfecting Fellowship International. His son, Marvin Jr., is also a pastor and leads Perfecting Home Church.
