A new study found that in addition to the dangers of addiction, there could be a new worry about opioid painkillers, with University of Colorado researchers that they could cause chronic pain. The Denver Post reports that,

The study found that opioids, like morphine, caused an increase in chronic pain in lab rats, a finding that suggests that the painkillers given to treat pain could in fact be causing more of it. The effect was found with just brief treatment with the drug, causing an intensified release of pain signals from immune cells in the rats’ spinal cords. Other opioid painkillers include drugs like oxycodone and methadone.

I mean, let’s be honest.  Pharma companies are THE BIGGEST drug dealers in the world.  They know exactly what they’re doing and how it affects humans.
